Meet Your Hosts
Growing up with hardworking parents, Ashley and Aaron (AKA the Butterworth kids) were pretty independent at a young age. Being part of what is known as the “Latch Key” generation these two veracious siblings learned most of life’s many lessons through music videos, movies, television and pop culture.
Meet Your Hosts!

Aaron
Co-Host
After serving in the Air Force in his late teens and early 20s, Aaron decided to give up the party life and head back home to the land of Bourbon and Lincoln. Here he resides with his thrifty, business savvy wife and their record-collecting teenage son. Outside of podcasting, you will usually find Aaron coaching a local soccer team, biking a trail, kayaking anywhere he can, or hanging out with the fam and their 5 DOUSes (Dogs of Unusual Sizes, really, they just vary in size, but that’s not as fun to say #PrincessBride). Aaron lives by the rule that no situation is complete without a throwback theme song (Warning: dance moves included), a classic movie quote or a dad joke (Yes, even the awkward situations…or maybe ESPECIALLY THE AWKWARD SITUATIONS).
Although Aaron loves a variety of movie and music genres, the 80s and 90s have always been near and dear to his heart. Through Nostalgic, Aaron is excited to share this love with other like-minded Goonies and maybe even introduce it to newer generations along the way! So, fasten your seat belts, kids, because we’re going back in time when children didn’t even wear them!

Ashley
Co-Host
As an Ex-Pastry Chef, Bartender, and Coast Guard veteran Ashley has made it her destiny to become “meh” at many things, but a master of none. When not binge-watching her “stories”, advocating for homeless animals or reading Ashley can be found being a homebody in the Houston area with her Hubs and animals (2 dogs and 2 cats). Besides podcasting about old skool things, other interests include sleeping (OH yeah, that can be a hobby), bowling, attempting mosaics, traveling and believing that all introverts should unit (Separately)!

Garret
Co-Host
Garret hails all the way from the Great State of Michigan and is considered a “nerd” by nature. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, he was obsessed with video games, cartoons, comics, and had a love for all things sci-fi or fantasy. During his youth, he also developed a love for food and creating anything delicious, with a special place in his heart for cakes/desserts. This love of cooking would determine his career in the Coast Guard as a Food Service Specialist (aka “The Cook”). After being discharged in 2006, he decided to bartend while going to school to be a Pastry Chef. Once he graduated and began working in local kitchens, he quickly learned he loved cooking for friends and family, but as a career? Not so much. Bartending was a way of life for many years, as he loved creating wonderful cocktails and getting to know his patrons, some who would even become good friends over the years. He has lived in many, but of all the places he’s called “home” Melbourne, Australia had to be one of his favorites! These days you can find Garret hanging out in Seattle, where he lives with his partner and his dog Marvel. His current hobbies besides podcasting are: videogames (PlayStation and Switch (RPGs are my fav)), writing stories (need more discipline with this), Marvel movies and tv shows (as well as sci-fi and fantasy too), hiking, reading good fiction or comics (fantasy mostly), cooking awesome meals with the bf, cocktails or a good bottle of wine with friends and/or family.
Favorite Things: X-men, Rum Old Fashioneds, Beach Hammocks, Naps and Great Conversations
How does he know Ashley and Aaron you ask?
Garret and Ashley met in the Coast Guard over 20 years ago and became fast friends. After bootcamp they trained to be Cooks in California. From there they’ve have had many adventures. The one thing that has held their friendship together is their ability to laugh at themselves, as well as find humor wherever they can in this game called life. Aaron and Garret eventually met through Ashley and have bonded over a mutual love for video games, movies and , of course, nostalgia. One thing is for sure; The Texas River Tubing Trip of 2010 changed all of their lives forever and will live in infamy!
